Virus Removal: $80
I can remove the traces and reverse the effects of most virus infections. I will also include a full tune-up and security audit to optimize the computer's performance and minimize the chances of re-infection.

Operating System Refresh: $50(Without Saved Data) or $80(With your data restored)
Whether your computer is brand new and still in it's box or 8 years old, whether you have a ton of data or none at all, an operating system refresh can be just what your computer needs! I'll only install the programs you actually use, get you up-to-date and maximize the performance potential of your computer. Got a new computer? Let me get it going the way it was meant to!

Tune-up: $30
Computer just not running like it used to? Getting weird error messages? Maybe just a good old-fashioned tune-up is in order! Get rid of temporary files, old versions of software that aren't necessary, make sure everything is as up-to-date as possible and optimize what's left! This will also make your computer less prone to threats!

Hardware Installations:

Easy: Free or $10. Simple to install items such as memory or hard drives will be installed at no additional cost if purchased from me. Items such as these provided by the customer will be installed for $10
Medium: $40. This is for the installation of items that don't require a comlete tear-down of the computer, but, require more time and effort to install than easy items. This would includes items such as laptop LCD screens or desktop motherboards.
Difficult: $80. This is for items that require significant time and effort to replace, such as laptop motherboards.

Data Transfer: $20
Transferring your files and data to a new computer or to a new hard drive. This charge also applies to hard drive cloning and secure wiping of your data from old or dying hard drives.

Data Recovery: $100
Software-based recovery of deleted/reformatted data or from your failing hard drive. If the drive has suffered significant damage or has failed beyond the abilites of software recovery, I will provide you with the option to have the drive sent to a 3rd party recovery center. More information can be found in the "Things to Know" section within the "Data Backup Information" heading.

Laptop Power Jacks: $100(parts additional)
The connector for your power cord is highly prone to strain and failure from normal use. But, even if it breaks, it's not the end of the world or your laptop, they can be replaced! If the jack is still intact, I will resolder it to the motherboard for the $100 charge. If it has been damaged, a replacement will be ordered and the cost of the jack will be added. If your jack doesn't require a soldered connection then I will bill as a Difficult Install (see above) plus the cost of the part.

System Cleaning: $10(Desktop) or $30(Laptop)
Dust and debris can block vents and airflow, causing your computer to run hotter, less efficiently and wear out more quickly. Your computer should be opened and cleaned at least once a year, more so in dirty or multi-pet environments. This service includes opening your computer to physically clean dust and debris, a wipe down of the case and screen and reapplication of thermal compounds (if necessary).

Diagnosis: $20
The diagnosis fee will only be charged if the repairs are not completed by me at the time of diagnosis.

Hourly Rate: $30
Other unlisted services, remote support and onsite troubleshooting will be billed at $30/hr.

Travel Time:
For on-sites and pick-ups/drop-offs within the greater Burlington area there will be no additional charge. Beyond the Burlington area (or roughly 10 miles one-way from my location in Fort Ethan Allen) there will be a $20 fee to cover fuel and maintenance costs.
